A new church has been introduced for drunkards and smokers in Johannesburg, South Africa, ashaimanonline.com reveals.
The act of worshiping God is a common practice subscribe to by many people across the globe. However, how people worship God differs from one religion to another, hence the various distinctions.
The new addition to these existing religious distinctions or sets is probably what the new Gobola Church in Johannesburg in South Africa has introduced.
The church known as Gobola Church, only admits alcoholics and smokers, who are above age 22, to drink and smoke during church service to praise God.
The church had only been in existence for four months and the congregants have been convinced to worship God through smoking and drinking.
The Bishop of the church, Tsietsi Matiki, himself, drinks before starting the Sunday service and other meetings.
Explaining the rationale behind the church belief, Bishop Matiki, indicated that, alcoholics and smokers were people who are despised by most Christian churches and Islamic faiths and saw the need to join themselves together as a body with one God.
He added further that, “when church members, who are alcoholics and smokers are allowed to do what they love to take, such as alcohol and other smoking materials, it allows them to connect with the Holy Spirit of God.”
Some of the church members in an interview, also revealed that, “they are happy that they now belong to a church that allows them to smoke and drink.”
