At 4 a.m. on June 10, Mr. Stephen Ahiatafu said the police received calls reporting three masked men going on rampage from house to house taking away properties from residents.

One victim reported that the robbers took away his mobile phones, LED TV sets and cash of GH¢3,000.

At 6:40 a.m. that day, the police found the body of Abubarkar Sadiq Adam in a pool of blood at his residence.

During preliminary interrogations, Nii Yartey said that he shot the footballer because they had one of their weapons seized by him which he refused to hand over upon request.

Yartey claimed that Abubarkar Sadiq Adam was praying when they barged into his room. He said that the deceased seized a gun from the gang and refused to hand it back to them.

A post-mortem report has revealed that the footballer was shot in the abdomen at close range. The mortal remains of the footballer has been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary.

However, the two other accomplices of the suspected robber are on the run.
