Members of NPP’s Invincible Forces are reported to have seized a trotro station at Ashaiman. Drivers and passengers of the Ashaiman Taboo Line station are calling on government to intervene.
There are worrying reports of how the pro-NPP vigilante group, Invisible Forces, seized a lorry station at Ashaiman.
Some drivers and passengers of the Ashaiman Taboo line Biakoye Trotro station say they were assaulted in the process as members of the vigilante reportedly revealed that they were taking over the station since their party – the NPP – is now in office.
“We are appealing to President Nana Addo to call the member of the Invisible Force to order because we will not allow them to take over the trotro station” the angry drivers said.
The menace of the Invisible Forces taking over state property and ransacking offices has been described as unfortunate by both government and the opposition National Democratic Congress.
Government has been ordered to either bring under control these violent persons or risk losing the peace and stability in the country.
Main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vehemently asked President Akufo-Addo to outlaw the New Patriotic Party’s private security wing, the Invincible Forces.
In statement signed by the NDC Secretary General, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia on February 22nd, the party commended President Akufo-Addo for publicly condemning the post election violence during his State of the Nation Address which the NDC believes has been propagated by agents of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
